New virtual training sessions launched for care home staff November 2016

Building on the success of our virtual training pilot earlier this year, the Airedale and Partners Enhanced Health in Care Homes vanguard is launching a new series of remote training sessions aimed at care home staff.

Delivered via our new virtual training centre, this free training is designed to enhance the competencies of your staff, as well as provide an opportunity for them to raise any questions on each of the topics.

These tailored sessions also include one developed specifically for your residents to help improve their balance. They will be run by qualified trainers from the Airedale Digital Care Hub, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and Manorlands Hospice.

The topics we are covering in dedicated sessions beginning November 2016 include:

  • NEWS and vital signs monitoring
  • Falls prevention
  • Pressure ulcer management
  • Balance classes for residents

To register your free places, please contact Wendy Winterbottom, Vanguard Project Support Officer via email or telephone: 01535 294546. Please include how many members of staff will be taking part in each session, their names and a main contact number. A meeting request will then be issued to the named contact from the central training diary, as well as information about how you can easily log in to our virtual training centre. Everyone who completes the training will be asked to fill out an evaluation form so we can collect feedback from your colleagues and measure how beneficial the training was for them. A certificate will be provided to everyone who completes the training. We are exploring new topics for later in the year, such as End-of-Life Care training in partnership with Manorlands Hospice. We will be writing to you again with details of how to access this training and others that are in the pipeline.
